    CARSON, George Robert -
    47, 76 Brookland St., Glace Bay, died November 15, 1996, as the result of a mining accident in Campbell River, B.C. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of Austin and Dollina (Tutty) Kiley and the late William H. Carson. He was at one time employed at No. 26 colliery and later at Prince colliery with Cape Breton Development Corporation. He was employed in the mining industry in Campbell River since February 1996. He was mine supervisor at the time of his death. He was a member of the mine rescue teams at both No. 26 and Prince collieries. He was an adherent of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Glace Bay. Surviving are daughters, Megan, Sydney; Nichole, Jennifer, British Columbia; son, Billy, British Columbia; a grandson; sisters, Judy Legere, Darlene Kiley, Glace Bay; a niece and two nephews. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, funeral 2 p.m. Friday, both in Patten Funeral Home and Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, Rev. Eric Lynk officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
