Biographical information / Informations biographiques

Odette Leger, 10 year old daughter of Joseph and Jeannita Leger of Robichaud was killed late Friday morning when struck by a car near her home. Leger was Struck while walking along the highway 15 with a companion. The companion wasn't injured, said Shediac RCMP. The youngster was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. RCMP said the mishap occurred at about 11:30 a.m. and an autopsy was performed at the request of the coroner. The dirver, a local area resident, was not identified pending further investigation. Leger was a member of the Barachois Jeannettes, St Henri du Barachois Roman Catholic Church and would have entered fifth grade at the Robichaud School this fall.

Besides her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Leo-Paul and Maurice Leger, both at home, and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. The body is at Frenette's Funeral Home, Shediac. The funeral mass will be celebrated 4 p.m. Sunday from the St. Henri du Barachois Roman Catholic Church, Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
