    Charlotte Helena Cormier, age 82, of Amherst passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Port Greville, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Onslow and Carrie (McCully) Legere. Charlotte was a member of the Holy Family Parish, Amherst. She is survived by four daughters, Sherrie Elliott (Gordon Jackson), Heather (Doug Polley Jr.) and Joanne Oake (Mike Legere) all of Amherst and Debbie (David) Boyd of Dartmouth, three sons, Doug (Arlene) of Fenwick and Darren (Tasha) of Amherst and Robert (Paula) of Moncton, two brothers, Archie (Marjorie) Legere of Parrsboro and Stuart (Isabelle) Legere of Bass River, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Abbey and one brother Frederick and also son-in-laws Ronnie Elliott Jr. and Bradley Oake. Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with Parish prayers at 8 p.m. all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (667-9906) The funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Parish, Amherst on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst. Donations in Charlotte’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice. www.campbells-amherst.ca.

    57, Ellershouse, Hants County, died Friday in Hants County Hospital, Windsor. Born in Parrsboro. He was a son of Onslow and Carrie (McCully) Legere, Parrsboro. He was employed with Curry's Corner Co-op. Windsor and IGA food stores. He was active in baseball, hockey and golf. He is survived by his wife, the former Clara Babineau; three daughters, Karen (Mrs. Allison Caldwell) Brooklyn, Linda (Mrs. Stephen Harvey) Hillsdale, Rosemary (Mrs. Richard Northrup), Ellershouse, four sons, Stephen, Clayton Park; Daniel Windsor, Andrew, Timothy, both at home; a sister Mrs. Charrlotte Cormier, Amherst, two brothers, Archie, Parrsboro, Stewart, Bass River; six grandchildren. The body is in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Visiting 7-9 pm today, 2-4, 7-9 pm Sunday, funeral will be 11 am Monday in St. Brigid's Catholic Church, Parrsboro. Rev Patrick Cosgrove officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

    92, Smith avenue, Parrsboro, died Thursday in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late James and Clara (MacAloney) Legere. He retired after 50 years of service with Parrsboro Fire Department. He served in the Merchant navy during the First and Second world wars. He was a member of Parrsboro Shore, Historical Society, Parrsboro Curling Club and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 45. He was named Parrsboro's Citizen of the Year in 1985. He is survived by his wife, the former Carrie McCully; a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Cormier, Amherst; two sons, Archie, Parrsboro; Steward, Bass River; two brothers, Dexter, Phillip, both of Parrsboro; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Frederick (Sonny); two brothers, Frederick, James. The body is in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today. Funerals will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Patrick Cosgrove officiating. Spring Burial will be in church cemetery. Donations may be made to any charity.
