Gerard P. Allain

Gerard P. Allain, 79, of Villa Heritage, Moncton and formerly of Sumac Street, passed away at Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Tuesday, April 4, 1995. Born January 17, 1916 in Saint Antoine, he was the son of the late Pierre and Marie-Anne (Caissie) Allain, A retired carpenter, he attended Notre Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church in Moncton and was a member of the Golden Age Club, Humphrey. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Vancouver, B.C. He is survived by his wife, Edna (Leger) Allain; three daughters, Marguerite "Maggie" and her husband Tim Benoit, Simonne and Stella, all of Moncton; six sons, Alcide and his wife Sylvie of Montreal, P.Q., Roger and his wife Catherine of Dieppe, Victor, Normand, Emery and Maurice all of Moncton; three sisters, Madeleine Bourque of Bouctouche, Sr. Eva Allain of N.D.S.C., Moncton, Sarah Girouard of St. Antoine; six brothers, Normand and his wife Jeannette of Montreal, P.Q., Desire of Quebec, Fidel and his wife Cecile of Notre Dame, Alcide and his wife Laura of Moncton, Antoine of Quebec, Arsene of Quebec; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Paul in January, 1995. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 88 Church Street, Moncton with visiting hours on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #6, Moncton, will hold a Legion Service at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., on Thursday, April 6, 1995 at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Notre Dame De-La-Paix Roman Catholic Church in Humphrey on Friday, April 7, 1995 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe.
