Death Of J. E. Leger -
The death of Joseph Emile, 70, 147 St. George Street, Moncton ocurred at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, Thursday morning after a lengthy illness. He was born in Upper Aboujagane, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Leger. He was a retired CNR car foreman retiring in 1959 after 44 years service. He was a member of Assumption Parish and the Sacred Heart League. Surviving are his wife, Elsie Theriault Leger; seven daughters, Mrs. Richard Harwood (Leonie), Pembroke, Ont., Mrs. Jack Blaskicvick (Evelyn), Timmins, Ontario, Mrs. Raymond Boucher (Yolande) and Mrs. Claude Nadon (Emilia), both of Temiskaming, Quebec, Mrs. Rene Labelle (Doris), Detroit, Mrs. Robert LeBlanc, (Rachel), Moncton and Mrs. Paul Pardiac (Lucille). Montreal; three son, Hubert, Shediac, Reginald, Halifax and Raymond, Temiskaming; four sisters, Rev. sister Mary Geraldine, NDSC, Memramcook, Mrs. Aurele Gaugin, Dover, Mrs. Leo Leger, Montreal and Mrs. AIfred Melanson, Ludlow, Mass.; three brothers, Gerard, Moncton, Alban and Henri, both of Ludlow. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body will rest in Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street. A libera service will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in Assumption Cathedral. The body will be placed in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery vault to await interment later in the spring in St. Joseph Roman Catholic cemetery, Shediac.
