James "Jim" McDonald

McDONALD, JAMES “JIM” R. - James “Jim” R. McDonald, 82, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday May 29, 2012. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late William and Lillian (McMahon) McDonald. Jim was retired from VIA Rail with 40 years service and attended St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church. Jim will be sadly missed by his daughter, Denise Casey (James) of Moncton; sons, William (Chrystal), Brian (Janice) and Gary (Theresa), all of Moncton; precious grandchildren, Sarah and Daryl McGee, Marc, Martin, Michelle and Hannah; cherished great grandson, Connor; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his wife, Gilberte (Bert) McDonald (August 2004); grandson, Francois (2002); brothers, Preston, Francis and Roderick.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday June 1, 2012 at 9:30 am, Rev. Yvon Arsenault officiating. Reception in the Parish Hall following the Mass. Interment, Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. In Jim’s memory, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at
