J. Paul Magee

J. Paul Magee of Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, January 30, 1999 at the age of 80 years.

Born in Moncton on March 16, 1918, he was the son of the late Frank Magee and the late Lucie (Leger) Magee and was a member of the Cathedrale Notre Dame de l'Assomption.

He is survived by his wife, Renée (Menard) Magee; one'daughter, Marie-Paule (Robert Gould),of Moncton; four sons, Robert (Mariana Cormier) of Cap Pelé, Charles (Janice MacNeil) and Michael (Hélène Dion) of Moncton, John (Christine) of Riverview; a foster daughter, Genevieve (John) Hanev of Edmonton, Alta.; and six grandchildren, Nadine, Marc, Patrick, Richard, Justin and Matthew. He is also survived by two sisters, Marguerite Godin of Montreal and Régina Savoie of Moncton; and one brother, Fred (Bernadette) of Moncton. He was predeceased by lour brothers, Alan, Joseph, Eric and Frank; and a sister, Marie.

He was a long-time employee of Marven’s Limited and retired in 1978 as secretary-treasurer. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force ouriny the Second World War and is a life member of the R.C.A.F. Association. He was a past president of the RCAF 253 Moncton Wing. He was co-founder of the 650 Vanier Air Cadet Squadron in Moncton and served for eight years, retiring as the Commanding Officer. He is a life member of the Air Cadet League of Canada and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6.

Visitation is at Frenette’s Funeral Home February 2, 1999 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedrale Notre Dame de l'Assomption on Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at 10 a.m., followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the memorial of the donor's choice.
