Eugene H. Belliveau, 75, of Shediac died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton following a sudden illness. Born in Shediac, August 10, 1935, he was the son of the late Henri and Lea (Boudreau) Belliveau. He was the proprietor of E. H. Belliveau Men's Wear in Shediac prior to his retirement. Eugene devoted his time doing volunteer work in his community. Especially the Vestiaire Saint Joseph in Shediac, where he was also vice president. He was a 3rd degree member with Knight of Columbus, Council # 7334 Père Donat LeBlanc in Shediac and a past board member of the South East Economic. He was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship in 2009 from the Shediac Rotary Club and the Town of Shediac Citizen of the Year. He was known as "The Best Ticket Seller inShediac" matter what the organisation (charitable or other) he was your man. He will be sadly missed by his wife Alice (Landry) LeBlanc of Shediac, a son Michel (Lori) of Moncton and his daughter Josette Belliveau (Michel Poirier) of Shediac; two grandchildren: Luc and Julie Gautreau; a sister Cecile Langis (Romeo) of Shediac and several nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his 1st wife and mother of his children, Aurore (Leger) (1992), and by two siblings: Albert Belliveau and Marie LeBlanc. The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac on Thursday, April21, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
