R. Melanson Haute Aboujagane (Special) -
Roger Melanson, 66, of 148 Providence St., Shediac, and formerly of Haute Aboujagane, died Wednesday at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, after a short illness. Born in Haute Aboujagane, he was a son of Mrs. Lina (Leger) and the late Romauld Melanson. A carpenter, he had retired in 1987 after 40 years. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Georgia Melanson of Shediac; two daughters, Mrs. Roger Richard (Jeannette) and Mrs. Aumont Boudreau (Joanne), both of Haute Aboujagane; two sons, Paul and Bernard, both of Haute Aboujagane; a sister, Mrs. Guy LeBlanc (Rose) of Cap Pele; six brothers, Romeo of Massachusetts, Normand, Arthur, Henri and Omer, all of Haute Aboujagane, and Leo of Grand Digue and two grandchildren. A brother, Alcide, and a sister, Rolande Ouellette, died previously. The body is at Frenette's Funeral Home, Shediac. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacre Coeur Roman Catholic Church, Haute Aboujagane. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
