MEMRAMCOOK WEST - Laurie Johnson, 76, of Memramcook West passed away on Sunday, September 8, 1996 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in St-Paul, he was the son of the late Arthur and Marguerite (Arsenault) Johnson. Until retirement, he was employed with CNR as a labourer. A veteran, he served during World War II and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #89. He attended St-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, Club D'Age D'Or de Memramcook and the Air Force Club of Moncton.
He is survived by his wife Elaine (Leger) Johnson; two sisters Dora (Leo) Melanson of Gardner, Mass., USA and Lily (Ovila) LeBlanc of St-Paul; three brothers Gerald (Yvonne) Johnson of Gardner, Mass., USA, Wilmer Johnson of Toronto, and Azar (Marie Joanne) Johnson of Moncton; also, several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook, with visiting hours on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church, St-Joseph on Wednesday, September 11, 1996 at 7 p.m. Interment in St-Thomas Cemetery.
